So I've heard of those ati drivers being developed by novel (some tech specs released by ati)... RadeonHDs I think they're called. I have an x1950pro.

Does this mean that I can run Beryl or compiz fusion and run games at the same time. More importantly, do these drivers support the x1950pro card? I can't seem to find the RadeonHD drivers homepage to find any of this info.

the current "new" ATI drivers only support the 2000 series of cards, which really sucks for the rest of us . Hopefully, the next "new" driver release will alleviate this problem and allow backwards compatibility.

But THIS month the new and updated drivers will be released for ALL of the ATI cards (by ALL I don't mean the very old ones like 8000).

And since these drivers are open source, will they be included in Ubuntu Gutsy? :)

I'm pretty sure that they have AIGLX support

As for them being included in Gutsy, I think that it was said that they won't be simply because they've come too late.

And they are NOT open sourced.
