Hi All
I am looking for a SATA or SAS controller that:
goes into a 4x or 1x PCI-E slot (PCI-X not an option)
Has proper manufacturer driver support that will natively pickup in linux, or can be added at boot (like windows)
Can rebuild an array while the server is live (run in usermode)
it can be SAS, as it is compatible with SATA drives
must be widely available in South Africa
be installable and configured in under 15min's (I hate software RAID)
must be able to email any RAID events
must allow for hotswopping. EVEN IN LINUX!
The above features are pretty standard for windows. Why is it so hard to find for linux (rhetorical question)
