What I meant with similar to Age of Empires was a game in which you build buildings which you use to recruit units (Which cost resources). There should be many types of units. The game should have resource gathering (like mines etc.) and a technology tree.
Are there any games for GNU/Linux which are like that?
Thanks

It's not out yet but check the media for 0AD (http://www.wildfiregames.com/0ad/). I'm really looking forward to the release.

0AD looks good, but the fact is: there arent any AoE-like games for Linux.
What you can try is using Cedega/wine. I'm playing Warhammer DC thru Cedega with succes. Some things dont work, but some do (skirmish works fine).

I usually play age of empires under wine or dawn of war. For native games try boson, glest, warzone2100, freeciv.

Definitely Glest (http://www.glest.org/en/index.php). It's in the repos.
