Hi!
Let's collect the best games under Linux(Ubuntu)!

My choice is Gridwars 2 (http://www.getdeb.net/app.php?name=GridWars+2), because it is beautiful and never goes boring!

Try it!

I would have to say... Savage (http://s2games.com).
Savage 2 is coming out soon (estimate 15 oct) and it'll maybe (read probably) be better.

I've always found Frozen Bubble to be addictive.

Enemy Territory! What an awesome (free!) multiplayer. Its a bit old, but tons of people are still playing it online all the time.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, the sequel, is coming out 10/2, with the Linux client to follow sometime soon (currently in beta) after that. I tried the windoze demo and its pretty fun.

Open Arena. A good solid Quake 3.
And if I am allowed two then I will have to say Tremulous.

Nexuiz is very good. You can get it from the Repositories (Add/Remove Programs). It's an FPS btw.

If your into MMORPGs there's a really good Free Open Source MMORPG called TheManaWorld.

UT2004 should be mentioned among the FPSs. People have made a huge number of maps and mods for this game. The map Serenissima is particularly beautiful, and of course there's the story-maps like Goatswood and 2019... oh the list goes on.

Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction if you want a good replayable action RPG. Works perfectly with Wine.

Extreme Tux Racer (http://extremetuxracer.com/?screenshots) if you want a nice and relaxing racing game with Tux. It has smooth animation and very cute graphics.

Let me tell you what I have on my Linux machine
Chromuin
Power Manga
Super Tux
Super Tux Cart
XGalaga

If your looking for a good source first check out add remove...no joke. But I would HIGHLY reccomend checking out the game site first for screen shots. Then www.getdeb.net they do have a good selection of precomplied games.

I've almost forgot about Spring (http://spring.clan-sy.com/).

It's a good game, but the forums are a joke, full of trolls and childish attitudes from the general members and moderators, it is a pity.

I play quake4 more nowadays :D

doom 3 + quake 4 :)

i've noticed that most people mention open source games. however, i do believe that commerical games that can run natively in linux have their place.

For non-native games, anything by Blizzard, and CS:S

For native linux -> Nexuiz, and World of Padman is amusing

I can't believe nobody has posted it yet but the best "free" FPS hands down is Sauerbraten (http://www.sauerbraten.org/).

The person behind this game played a big part in HDR and bump mapping on FarCry. With his knowledge he's integrated those eye candies among others.

Forgot to mention, the map editor is just wicked! never edited a map like that in my life... (online with others in a 3D space)

Geez, wish I could play some of these games on my Intel Integrated 945 lol. But looking at the description for some of them I can tell it wouldn't run.
