Hi, I have been using Ubuntu and I saw the screen shot of Ubuntu Gamers Edition with this amazing black theme alone with the black taskbar and stuff on it by default. Can I get it somehow for regular Ubuntu?

you can get 'em at gnome-look.org.
Here's a dark one that I did.

ah crap, you know wats wrong with it? It's so dark that openoffice detects that you're using a black theme, and it switches all the icons to Hi-contrast ones automatically ><
in my case, it replaces the icons with words... not really usable. Using the ubuntustudio theme now, a bit lighter :guitar:

When you switch themes it will mess up OOo some times.
here is a fix:
openoffice.org-style-andromeda - Default symbol style for OpenOffice.org
openoffice.org-style-crystal - Crystal symbol style for OpenOffice.org
openoffice.org-style-default - Default symbol style for OpenOffice.org
openoffice.org-style-human - Human symbol style for OpenOffice.org
openoffice.org-style-industrial - Industrial symbol style for OpenOffice.org
openoffice.org-style-tango - Tango symbol style for OpenOffice.org
openoffice.org-style-hicontrast - Hicontrast symbol style for OpenOffice.org
Just pick one :)

I had BlackPlastic, but when i noticed that user switch/logout panel was grey, I switched away. Have you noticed it? I installed ubuntulooks, but still had it.

You can set OpenOffice to use any other theme in OO's options. ;)
Just because it tries to automatically detect what configuration works best with your theme doesn't mean that you couldn't choose another setting yourself..

You can get the theme pack for ultimate edition from the ultimate forum here
http://forumubuntusoftware.info/
you have to be a forum member to get into the
Hidden post only viewable by registered users
section of the forum then you'll find it in the
Official U.E. Themes
then the
Ultimate Edition Theme Pack...
thread.
The current version is
Ultimate Edition Themes 0.0.6 (current)
which you will find part way down in the first post.
It's 952.4 MB before installation and it has a whole lot of themes to choose from as well as splash, login screens, wallpaper, pointers and much more.
Well worth getting. I have it and it's sweet.
Here's a small section of it

This one is quite good for dark. Slicker than Slickness black and works on Jaunty with no issues.

Hi. I'm using SlicknesS-black, which I love. A while ago, I had to re-install Ubuntu (and SlicknesS-black), but now the theme doesn't apply to everything. Refer to my picture of VLC. It's no longer dark. I did sudo chmod -R 755 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS-black. Did I miss something?
