Hi,

I installed DRI drivers to enable 3D acceleration on my omnibook 6000 with an AGP 2X ATI Rage mobility 8 Mo (glxinfo now shows that direct is enabled).

The CPU is a Pentium 3 Mobile 650 Mhz "SpeedStep" 256K cache L2 with 256M RAM.

However when I start Enemy Territory, the first screen is deadly slow, I can't play at all.

Do you know if this configuration could run that game ?

thanks for your help,
regards
Xavier

Hi,

Well, if you take a look at the minimum system requirements:
- IntelŪ PentiumŪ III 600Mhz processor or AMD equivalent
- 32 MB 100% fully OpenGLŪ compliant 3-D video card

So your CPU is barely adequite... And an ATi Rage it's good enough at all... These card have very little real 3D acceleration...

You basically need a Radeon of Geforce for ET...

Also note that the Minimum System requirements for most games, are the bare minimum requirements, this means you can technically play the game, but I don't think 30fps is acceptable...

Also note that the DRI driver do not perform as well as the windows drivers... I did a comparison of the Radeon driver with Quake 3, and the DRI driver perform at about 75% of the speed of the native windows driver.

Anyway to conclude... you need a much faster system...
