Hy, there is this very interesting thread:

I thought that an opposite thread would be good.
I use Windows because:
I have to work on computers which are not mine and which have windows on them.
Having install problems on some computers (I/O Error on device hda)
I have to show sometimes people how to do things in windows and therefore I have to know how to do things in windows.
I use software which is written for windows (I know, there is wine, but not everything goes in wine...)

truck driver here, I only use MS streets and trips in virtualbox win xp....unless I have an active wifi connection then I use google earth in linux.
that's the only thing i use cause i can't find a good alternative to streets and trips for linux that can run offline and wine just won't do it

I use windows(been getting better with linux though) because it just works. Ubuntu drivers/hardware support doesn't work 100% on any of my 3 computers. I have gotten most things working but there always just seems to be something that doesn't work. Where it does always on windows.

Yep, add games. I renamed by Win partition to "Wintendo" on my GRUB splash at the suggestion of another forum member. Aside from a couple apps for school, that the only thing Win gets used for.
