Your CPU will run a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.

64-bit will run a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.
...and you'll also be able to dual boot it with Ubuntu, 32bit or 64bit. :)

I guess that depends on how you define "work"...
I have to ask, why on earth would you want to install a 7 year old operating system on a 64bit computer? And, for the love of god, why windows?

Moving to Windows Discussions.
And for what it's worth, Win2K was the last MS OS I liked. If I had to use one -- even on a 64-bit computer -- it would be Win2K Pro.

THANK YOU
The reason i want to install win2kP is because i recently FOKKED up my pc, and accidentally formated my ubuntu partition (dont ask) im going to be using win2kp for my recording software, and adobe, ONLY, and use ubuntu for everything else, so basically ill only use windows when my laptop is docked in my studio

why always a discussion that starts with "how can I or will it work...Windows" deviates into offtopics like "why install Windows"
because he wants to! and he has all his reasons, no need to question all this

I like 2000, but it doesn't run that well on newer hardware. You might want to try running 2000 in Virtual Box or VMware instead.

I think win 2000 was MS best Os. If I still had my copy (got lost when I moved) I would be dual booting ubuntu and 2000 pro.

Ahh, Windows 2000, that was perhaps one of the best OSs Microsoft released. It was stable, yet it didn't eat your resources until your computer begs for mercy. Even msconfig could be installed by using the one in XP (since XP is really 2000 with a bloated interface). I'd still use it if I wasn't required to use Office 2007.
