Hi All,

I've been playing around with parallel clustering using ParallelKnoppix. It's awesome! But, I really don't like Knoppix as an every day OS. I know I can install vmware and run my Ubuntu from it, and I'm sure the vmware will be clustered as well... but, does anyone know of a way to setup Ubuntu for parallel clustering?

I really don't understand much about parallel clustering other than it allows multiple computers to act as a multi-core processor.

I just have a lot of PII and PIII computers that I would like to throw in a room and just play around with, there's really no point for doing this project yet, other than just for fun.

Thanks for any help!

Basically what most clusters are made up from in Linux.

This guys blog (now looks to be dead) explained how he did his load-balanced cluster, albeit with fairly fast computers.

Lastly, clusterknoppix seems to be the way to go. It's live-cd based.

I plan on doing a 4/5 node cluster with some 1GHz boards i can find with Gigabit ethernet. First try it all with clusterknoppix and then later run chaos (from ram) on the slaves

afaik, only 1person has got ubuntu with clustering.

Hi everyone! I hope since last year something moved forward in this idea?
I am currently pretty much interesting to build some one too.
If anyone has got some fresh idea or ready-to-go solution/instruction, please drop me here or send email/PM.
Thanks in advance.
