Hi. I installed Kubuntu using Wubi in XP. Everything seemed to go right.
After being in Ubuntu for half an hour, installed some programs and shut down. The computer wouldn't turn off. When I came back an hour later it was still running showing an empty screen. So I manually restarted.

Now it won't boot.

Turn it on, it'll start, I see a DELL logo, and then the computer restarts itself, loop loop loop. Can't do anything. It gets me as far as to allow me into the BIOS and Boot device menu.

Is this just a case of repairing windows from a boot-cd ? Is this likely to happen again?

I'm using a dell dimension 6150
Intel Pent. D 820 DualCore (2.80GHz, 800MHz fsb, 2x1MB cache)

Thanks for any help and/or advice.

Cheers, John Luck Pickerd

You need to run chkdsk /r from windows CD or using other live CD with the tool.
