@RedSquirrel: I finally converted fluxbox-generate_menu to generate-openbox-menu. It works fine, and has all the non-icon related options of the original. It just has some nasty kludges in it in order to prevent the output of empty sub-menus. I've worked out a way to elegantly remove them, but it will require rewriting most of the script... in the mean time, I'm trying to figure out the sed-fu in the original script that handled the empty menus.
