hi,
here a list (http://www.icewalkers.com/Linux/Software/Internet/Networking/Download-Tools/1700/) of download tools for Linux.
I used Aria, Axel and Downloader4X.
Then i tried DownloadThemAll (http://www.downthemall.net/) for Firefox and never used another thing. Very practical.

I read nice things of FlashGot, too, another downloader for FF.

I use Multiget
http://multiget.sourceforge.net/
Top ppogram very stable supports multiple threads and works with FlashGot in Firefox.

I am currently using Fiesty (7.04) with Firefox 2.0.0.8 and have both FlashGot and DownThemAll installed.

In order to setup FlashGot with DownThemAll as the download manager, it is necessary to specify the executable name for DownThemAll.

What I have found is dta.jar which is a zipped archive in the chrome subdirectory where DownThemAll is installed in my Firefox profile.

Is dta.jar the correct executable to specify to FlashGot for DownThemAll? If not, then what is?

P.S.

In order to get FlashGot to accept dta.jar when using the Browse function button, I had to create a symbolic link to the .mozilla subdirectory in my home directory for Ubuntu in order to be able to even use the Browse functionality since dot files are not mapped by the FlashGot Preferences tool in Linux/Unix.
