I tried to switch avenus since I was unsucessfull with one. So I tried downloading the blizzard launcher...The launcher starts up but downloads nothing. The green light is on and detects no problems, just nothing downloads.

Any ideas ?

Thanks guy

So after about 5 minuts and 0 downloaded it came up saying that it appears it's behind a firewall, I disabled my firewall and still nothing.

maybe try just downloading full patches from a patch mirror, and installing with wine?

This is usually the best bet when something of this sort happens.

The Blizzard downloader is pretty much crap in general. Everything in a wide range of possible issues is just narrowed down to "behind a firewall" and it makes users confused and upset. This is the fault of a badly built p2p client which should not be the only means (that most know of) for updating WoW. While this can usually be solved by proper port forwarding on your (if you have one) router, I've seen cases where the downloader continued to misdiagnose the situation time after time even in a proper ***dows environment.

Here' about the best patch link you'll ever find:

Known issue , Download the patches install them , and bypass even delete if you want the "Launcher.exe" and use the Wow.exe , in the future you'll have to install the downloads manually.

like he said , it's a POS.

This is a very easy task , even faster gamershell.com , gamedaily.com all places from which the patches can be obtained , Matter of fact I do this same thing on the windows pc's for the other wow players in my home.
