Ubuntu comes with 8 zillion fonts no one is ever going to use, certainly not me. I don't know what the desigers are thinking, but this has more fonts than what you used to get in high-end typesetting progams. Most people need at most, a dozen, day to day. Others, like me, a designer, use perhaps 20 in a year.

Can anyone give a good strategy for reducing my daily working fonts so my pick-list is down to say, 10-20 fonts? I could always go activate others when needed. I don't know how linux handles fonts yet. Is just copying them back and forth from an archive a bad idea? Tip needed here.

It might be nice if the ubutu peolpe had a "Favorites, Common, and ALL" filter in the font drop downs, someday.
