Does compiz-fusion make CPU fire at 100% each time you try to perform the 3D effects?

Hi, I was wondering if running comiz-fusion make the cpu 100% each time one does the 3d tricks: cubes, "coverflow" effects, etc. Does the laptop fan just go crazy?

I have not tried CF, but will do so once it is released officially in Gutsy in a month or 2.

My CPU1 does go to 78% usage or thereabouts while CPU2 goes on with it's normal 3.5%,4% load.

Well I'm using a desktop and it doesn't rev my fan =D Anyway my CPU (2.66GHz single core) reaches about 65% if i keep spinning the cube, then drops back down immediately. Animations don't lag even under stress though.
