Has anyone managed to get Ubuntu 7.04 installed on a DELL XPS210
Everytime I attempt to install Ubuntu the installation fails, with lots of errors. I know the disc is working fine as I have used it to install from on my Fusjitsu P5020 laptop.
Could it be a probelem withe the sata connections and the Ubuntu disc not having the correct drivers on it to see my DVD and Hard Drive correctly.

I have tried to install Ubuntu using a new 7.04 64bit disc. It continues to report ata2 errors. I assume the ubuntu disc does not have the drivers for the sata drives (CD and Hard Drive).
I have found that knoppix discs report the same issue.
I am interested to know has anyone had similar problems and are the UBUNTU Development Team going to sort this issue out.
If DEll is now putting Ubuntu on its machines then I am surprised they have not given the team access to the sata drivers .
I have a an ASUS barebones that uses sata drives and again Ubuntu has failed to install. This is quite a worrying trend as most manufactures appear to be using these new sata connections in their builds.
I would welcome any suggestions?

I have tried Ubuntu Hoary Heron 8.04 beta and it now sees the drives and installs great.
Thanks Ubuntu!!!
