I installed ubuntu a few days ago. IM liking it, I have a fast DELL XPS laptop with all the bells and whistles and I have had no driver complaints whatsoever. The OS automatically picked up my wireless connection, video card, sound and even my digital camera, which is great.

I am having some trouble with my wacom tablet and realplayer plug in for firefox, but I will solve those eventually.

So, definitely positive feedback from me, and I am a looong time Windows user.

Thanks very much for the welcome. I was able to install realplayer through a little understanding of the command line, up until a few days ago I didnt know anything about the terminal.

So now in case anyone was wondering, I am a first time ubuntu user, very unfamiliar with linux and through the ease of use of ubuntu the following things were set up automatically for me:

Video
Wireless Mouse
Wireless network
Sound devices
Digital Camera

Through a little effort (but no more effort than windows xp) I was able to set up:
flash plugins
realplayer plugins

adobe reader came "out of the box"

as well as an easy add/remove program

So now, I have the system configured for real_work and am able to view videos for my college classes online(which I desperately needed).

So anyway, linux rocks!, but right now I have to say in particular ubuntu rocks.

I dont have much to give in terms of programming but I will definitely be donating when ever I get a few extra dollars.
