snes9x - full screen

I installed snes9x but when I am trying to play full screen the fps goes down to 10. What should I do?

I would recommend zsnes to you. I used it since the late 90's till now and it brings back so many memories everytime I use it, though I bought most of my Snesgames we have a nice shop here in Kiel that still sells those games.
And what are your systemspecs?
