ok most people barely get compiz-fusion installed on ATI Raedons. I have had it on my ATI Radon 1300X Pro for about 2 weeks now and havn't run into any problems (install was a breeze)
anyways now I decided the windows burning in blue fire and my other effects are getting old but when I go to change t won't  infact it goes back to the old setting when I am done. It has been updated fully too. I don't want to reinstall because I've seen threads about the issues that creates no matter if you reinstall or not. Is there a fix or will I have to use a linux registry cleaner to set them all back to defaults (yes I've figured out reg cleaners set it to default (to my dismay a few weeks ago (before I killed linux and reinstalled 2 weeks ago)))

What version are you running? The recent versions (0.5.3, 5.4, 5.5) all have serious glitches saving settings, as mentioned here:
http://smspillaz.wordpress.com/
"If you are currently using CCSM, LibCompizConfig, CCP and the like to configure compiz, it is absolutely essential that you do not update the compiz-core package for a while, because you will lose the ability to set any options. The reason for this is because of a re-write of action handling in core, as well as a re-write of the gconf plugin."
