Please can we have sub-forums in the Community Cafe, similar to what we have in Other Distro's section? It's takes forever to find what your looking for, even if it's just a few days old.
Some suggestions

Music
Sport
Media
Politics
Technology
Rants ;)

why not use the "search this forum" button? I think there's too many sections already. It wouldn't be a good idea to divide the content further. It'd just be more of a hassle because people would post stuff in the wrong place, and each individual section would get less traffic because a) some people are too lazy to go and read through all the sections and b) they just wouldn't be interested enough in all of the sections.

I wouldn't change it.

i agree i wouldnt change it .. the search is enough and everything is very easy to navigate the way it is.

No Cafe subforums. But I think there should be a separate sub-forum to take the place of the "Linux Desktop Readiness" thread. That thread gets pretty confusing sometimes from all of the rapid merges.

Moved to "Forum Feedback & Help".
You forgot the "Forums Games" ;)

I say leave it as it is. This is primarily a support forum. No need to clutter it up with casual social talk.

Thanks for your patronising remarks, much appreciated.

It's not patronizing, after all, this IS a Ubuntu support forum. If you wish to discuss topics like that, Yahoo! Answers is the place.

Did you even bother to read my post? Do you know the purpose of The Cafe? if you think it is for technical support your wrong. I don't care one way or the other. I just thought it would make it easier and be tidier. It works for libraries, you don't just have a sign stuck in the middle with the word BOOKS! and it also works in my home folder.

Yahoo answers? lol your kidding right?

Yes, I know the Cafe and Backyard is for social discussions, but breaking apart the cafe for every_single_thing isn't wise and it distracts from the fact that this is a support forum overall. The Backyard is more than enough to cover all of your topics. If you wish to rant about Ubuntu, the testimonial section covers that. ;)

& yes, I realize that Yahoo! Answers is a piece of crap.

That's the whole point, I don't wish to scroll through a zillion posts, I'm not interested in Paris Hilton, Pop Idol, American Idol any other idol, big brother or the 900th post this month as to why Linux is a piece of junk or the latest "Gee Guys Have You Seen This? I have a life and a job, I don't have time.

And stop directing your answers to me, as if I'm the one posting the above, like everyone else on this forum some things I am interested in some things I'm not, and if you think this will somehow direct attention away from the fact that this is a support forum then all I can say is you must know some very strange people that have the attention span of Goldfish.
