Hi-
Im a student that is attending a "Flash" class at college. I have to take this class to get my degree...but probably wont ever need the software after this class...the cheapest I found it for is 299.00!. So, tonight after class, I thought Id boot up Ubuntu, and chech the repository for any FLASH like applications. I didnt find any. Im reading through here and have found a couple of threads pertaining to the Flash CS3 program. I went to the sites, but cannot DL them. Can someone please help me. Im still new to Ubuntu, I know very basic how to load from command line. Can someone help me?
Thank you in advance

If you're attending a Flash class, buckle up and buy Flash.

There is no direct equivalent in Linux for creating Flash.

I think I have to agree with the previous poster aysiu, I have not found anything really equivalent to CS3 in Linux (and man have I tried). I have seen a way to emulate Photoshop CS2, but nothing else really and nothing much related to flash.

Though I wish I could tell you otherwise, I suspect that you will have to just buy Flash. You might be able to find it cheap on eBay or something. Or at some online store with a student discount.

there are numerous would-be flash programs for linux but they are extremely basic. I sugest you use wine to run your macromedia flash. If you are worried about the price... i heard its a lot cheaper on torrents dot com :)
