iBook takes ~1 min to standby

Hello, I am dual booting Ubuntu/Mac OS X on my iBook G3 600mhz. Whenever I put the computer to standby (or screensaver) in Ubuntu, the screen gets darker and darker, until finally it goes to standby. Any suggestions?

Hi, i had similar problem.

It is gnome-screensaver bug, i chaned it to xscreensaver and disabled fadetoblack in it. You can find many tutorilas how to change gnome-screensaver to xscreensaver. Now everythink works fine (but touchpad scrolling, cat get it working :()
