I'm trying to install Feisty on my Mac Pismo g3. Got as far as a complete liveCD install with KDE, but couldn't get the screen viewable. I assume it was complete install because the KDE splash screen came up, then the progress bar did its thing, then the horizontal stripes on the screen (which I never did solve) Now my internal CD drive is bonking so I need another way to download the distro. Will the alternate CD help? Can I install that w/o burning a disk?
Another thing: when I hold down the C key on reboot, I get welcome to open firmware, but sometimes it hangs there. That didn't happen before. Seems it might have something to do with failure to boot the liveCD with C key down.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
