So i just installed Wine, Steam, etc. and i wanted to play some Counterstrike Source. It says that my video hardware does not meet the minimum requirements for this game. Does that mean my ATI driver is not installed properly? The message that steam gives me says that i should get Direct3D HAL. Thanks :)

Steam stopped support for win98 a couple of months ago, try doing a winecfg and check that you have selected a windows newer than that :)

I have windows 2000 selected. I can still run cs, it just runs at like 1 fps.

Unfortunately ATi support sucks for linux as ATi have failed to provide decent drivers as of yet. But try this guide (http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/wiwimod/index.php?page=HOWTO+Steam) and if this doesn't work, then blame ATi or your hardware-specs :(
