Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Sound too fast

Well, i am having problems with my sound under the game "Return to castle wolfenstein"

My Soundcard is a Hercules DJ Console


first i had alot of problems in ubuntu (soundcard didn't work at all) but that is fixed now. I'm having sound in xmms, flashplayer, amsn, ... without any problems now

Then I installed the game and again, i was having problems with my soundcard ingame (no sound)

I found a workaround on the forums here
"echo 'wolf.x86 0 0 direct' > /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss"

now my sound works in RTCW, but its too fast. it's hard to explain but every sound plays too quick, like the speed has been set 10 times higher

i've tried to search this forum, but so far i haven't found any solutions relating this problem

any help? (sorry for the poor english)

fixed it some time ago, it's working fine now :)

If it was playing too fast you'd know what enemies you'd face. Pretty good weapon selection right there.
