Hey,
What do you think about my desktop ?
http://ubuntuforums.org/gallery/showimage.php?i=588&original=1&c=
my desktop
-amaranth controls
-clearlooks windows
-gartoon icons
I chose graymodern theme in firefox
I chose chalk for my nautilus background (not on the screenshot)
I chose FeltTip Retouched smiley theme in gaim from gaim-themes package (not on the screenshot)
this is my old desktop :

the wallpapers are from deviantart.com
Does anyone know how to change gaim colors ? I would like a grey background in gaim with greenish default font color. I know I have to do it with .gtkrc (gtk2). Didn't deeply looked into this yet.

I just made some small improvements (before reading your post). .. the taskbar is now 46 pixels high (as low as possible while still allowing two rows of applications) and I made the desktop switcher smaller (2 rows and 1 column instead of 1 row and 2 columns) :)
