my system is Amd 64bit 4000+dual core, 256mb 8600gt xxx edition, 2gb DDR2 Ram, 500gb Sata HD i am new to Ubuntu 7.04 but i'm a fast learner and intend on kicking windows for good once i get the hang of it
I follow http://www.robdian.co.uk/content/view/56/27/ it's a wonderful guide to install my drivers for my nvidia 8600gt and appears to be fail proof
i can get the standard cube and wobbly visual options with out any worries what so ever.....
but when i follow other guides for installing Compiz, or beryl i have trouble logging back in. (only a black screen)
i have tried about 6 times to install compiz using different peoples threads
can somebody help me please?
this is a fresh install (i just formatted and installed Ubuntu 7.04 64bit) i haven't installed my drivers yet just incase it's because of my drivers
if you can point me to a thread that could give me a "dummies of dummies guide to installing compiz fusion" that would help out alot
