I am attempting to make the switch to Ubuntu full-time. I am currently studying for my private pilot and decided to give X-plane a try. I have installed joystick and jscalibrator and my CH Yoke and Pedals are detected, but I don't get any response when I move the yoke or press buttons. I did lsusb and the devices are recognized? Like I said very new to Ubuntu. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Try uninstalling jscalibrator, madhatter84gn. A lot of people (myself included) have had problems with it disabling directional controls.

I read a post that recommended unplugging the USB controllers, after you CLOSE Ubuntu, and then plug them back in after you have have RE-STARTED Ubuntu. I understood that for some reason, Ubuntu disables the connections, if it finds something plugged into them. This procedure is working for me, but it sure is a pain and I worry about wearing out or damaging the plugs.
