Is there anything better than F-Spot View?

I like gqview, since its lightweight. I've had some problems with f-spot crashing a lot so I'd suggest digikam instead. I haven't tried picasa or imgseek but they are also alternatives you might want to check out.

I second Digikam.

F-spot has never been stable for more nor offers any features near Digikam.
Picasa for linux is good too, but lacks plugins to other services besides google.
