I have a chronic debilitating illness which has a just a bunch of pain and nausea. I have been a avid Linux user since 95' and have used many different distro. Then in 2000 things health wise changed for the worse. Lately I just want things to work and have no hassles. I did the upgrade from ubuntu 5.10 to 6.10 without a single problems! Then I wanted to see what xfce4 was like so I did the upgrade and it just worked. Thank for your great work.

Sorry to hear about your illness. Best of luck, and thanks for sharing your positive story. I'm glad at least one thing in your life is hassle-free. :D

I hope you feel as well as you can! I, too, struggle with chronic illness. Being a Linux newbie of one month, this forum has saved me a lot of time-consuming, painful trouble. Overall, Ubuntu makes my computing life easier. I wish you all the best in every way.

Linux noob here too and things seem to be going pretty smoothly for the most part.
I have to agree that these forums have proven a good place for advise and support. The people here are far more knowledgeable and willing to offer support than any paid support from M$, or any other company for that matter.
This place has a real community feel which I like and it keeps pulling me in for more and more Ubuntu experience.
I am running a tripple boot system of XP, Vista and Ubuntu and Ubuntu is getting by far the most use as I become more and more comfortable with the OS. In fact, I don't think the M$ installs even have the latest security patches applied...I log into them less and less all the time.
