Loaded CompizFusion on Ubuntu, but I can only view 1 desktop in the cube. I went into ccsm > general options > desktop size > and increased the number of desktops from 1 to 4 and when I hold Ctrl+Alt and drag, only 1 desktop shows up.
I tried doing Alt+F2 > Compiz --replace, and still got the same result.
Any ideas?

Figured it out. I needed to set the horizontal size to 4.
Ok, so now that I have 4 accessible desktops, why do the same windows show on each one? Shouldn't the desktops show their own individual set of programs on the taskbar?

Your desktops will mirror the background, icons and toolbars by default. Window List is the part on your toolbar that shows you the open windows. You can make it so that the Window List is specific to the desktop, I'm doing it right now...
I just can't quite remember how!!

Well that give me hope... does anyone know what setting to enable to separate the programs per desktop?

Try setting number of desktops to 1 (don't know quite why, but it works for me!)

worked for me too... so I wonder if it's a combination of setting virtual sizes of the desktop (cube sides) to 4+ and the number of desktops to 1? definitely not logical, but it works for me (for now) and I'm ok with that.
