I don't quite understand how you use Blender. Could someone enlighten me with a guide or something?:(

One more thing:
The buttons are somewhere else nowadays than the version in the tutorials!
You have to find them.
For example: Now The Subsurf is in the Mudifiers. However in the tutorial it is in Mesh.

I've been learning from BlenderBasics (http://www.cdschools.org/54223045235521/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=55205). It's great -- it takes you from simple stuff all the up to advanced animation.
