CAD in Ubuntu?

Hey I'm still new to the ins and outs of Ubuntu, it's only been a few days since I made the switch and this is my first Linux try. Anyway, my drafting teacher said the school was going to get the SolidWorks CAD program, and I was wondering if it can be ran (effectively) through something like Wine. I have the same question about Autocad (02 I believe). Would it be worth it to try to get them to go, or just say forget it and run them on my Vista comp?

Also, if these aren't really realistic options to use on Ubuntu, what is the best CAD program to get?

Check out http://www.bricscad.com/. It's used by large engineering firms.

But man I still miss AutoCAD.

Would be nice to be able to run Solidworks under Ubuntu
