It works just fine. Speedy and fast. It can take work to get some extensions like windows media player to work in Opera. But flash etc works fine and they all work in firefox. You have to migrate plugins to a folder or something.... but back on topic...

It runs great.

Here, Opera works much better than Firefox. It is lightning fast, while still having tons of options out of the box . Most pages are rendered well and fast. And I just love Speed Dial.

Firefox is somewhat slower (not badly though) and less stable. Furthermore, its font rendering is horrible. That is the main reason for me not to use FF. Apparently, this is a KDE or perhaps Kubuntu related issue. When I installed Gnome, FF felt snappier and the fonts were much better.

it seems to work the other way as well: whenever somebody complains about Opera's speed, they are either workng on very old hardware or they are using Gnome. Just an observation. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Opera would be my default browser if I could use my Firefox plug ins with it. Opera does seem to have some problems with playing embedded media on Linux though
