It's really light, one more reason why I support it. Moreover, its not Norton, that brings it to the top of my list. ;)

Not with a single license.. but they offer discounted pricing for multiple copies.
And again, I cannot stress enough how highly I recommend NOD32.. it is simply the best A/V I have ever used...

It is very good, much smaller footprint as some of the better known players..
I don't see the problem with it being commercial.. these guys are working hard to protect your system 24/7, nothing wrong with making a living doing that.

The best alternative to AutoCAD is BricsCAD which is based on IntelliCAD
and looks and works 90% like AutoCA. Its not free but it is worth it.
I really need Sketchup 6 to run on Linux then i will start spending more of time in Ubuntu ;)

I wish Adobe would make Adobe CS3 Master Collection for Linux.. Thats my biggest down; besides i have classes that require MS Office 2007 right now. And Banshee still needs some nice big updates added too it.. Amarok *spell* has too much going on with the gui, it's not laid out as professional/simple as Banshee and im into simple looking things that have a lot of configurations.

Thank you for this discussion! This week, I successfully installed Kubuntu. I'm still running a dual-boot system with Windows XP. The only reason I don't switch completely away from Windows is because there are still some applications that aren't available in Linux.
Here's my top-10 list in Windows ( actually only 8 ) in order of preference. Items with an "*" are not available in Linux:
OpenOffice
SeaMonkey
Scanning application
*Irfanview
FileZilla
*Cobian (backup utility)
*Infrarecorder (CD image burner)
*iTunes (yes, I still have to use it)
If anyone can suggest good alternatives to the ones noted with a "*" I'd be very appreciative!
Thanks,
Matt

2. foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/)
3. World of Warcraft (http://www.wow-europe.com/) (the occasional once-a-month playing)
Out of those three, only foobar has a decent replacement at the moment, sadly enough. All messengers have something that bothers me and I can't play WoW with wine since I have an ATI card and it lags to hell. :/
As soon as I get my nVidia card though, (and in turn am able to throw this ATI card out the window) I'll be saying bye to any and all microsoft products other than my virtual XP desktop for e-identification and stuff like that.

If i'm honest though, the ONLY thing keeping me in Windows is poor Microsoft Office file format support in Linux applications.
Once OpenOffice or IBM Symphony supports .doc .xls and .ppt flawlessly, I can lose windows for good.
I would love to use open formats, but it's absolutely unavoidable for me at the moment.
