I have some questions about the limits set on the number of threads shown in the two options, New Posts & Today's Posts. I understand why there are limits, particularly on such busy forums; server loads etc. and I am happy to go with whatever the admin folk decide is appropriate for their needs. My questions are about the implications of the limits.
If I use the New Posts option or Today's Posts option, what happens to the threads past 250 that I don't see? How do I know the total posts? Is it 250 of 300 or 250 of 3000?!! How do I ensure (for example) that I can read ALL posts since my last visit - which is what I would like to be able to do. Well, not read them but browse the thread heading to see if I want to read them. How do I know what I have missed? How do I ensure I see all that I want to see?
Maybe I just don't understand how the forums work well enough.
I know I can go into each forum in turn and set the parameters at the bottom but that is onerous to say the least. I would really like to be able to select say 5 or 6 primary forums of interest and see all Today's posts in just those forums.
Is there anywhere I have missed or not understood that covers these concerns?
