Oki, want to test new FREE OS:es and decided to have a look att GNU:s HURD as a kernel instead of linux kernel. Anyone who want's to give me a tip where to start?

It's nowhere near complete, but I think Debian is the most advanced in offering a HURD system.

Why would someone want to use a kernel thats 20+ years old and haven't even left off the development stage, I'm sorry for the GNU project but they should give up on this kernel until they can either find better technology.

Everyone here is right. While you should never quit testing new FOSS operating systems GNU Hurd is very old, and still not complete. It is no where near ready. I wouldn't waste my time writing your own drivers and whatnot. Nexenta, Haiku, Syllable, Minix3, FreeDOS - all of those would offer better hardware support. Also look into BSD.

listen to him if you want to experiment try Free BSD or there easier variations like PC-BSD or Desktop BSD

Well, realized that i have to read alot more to get knowlage about everything... so i'll do that. Think i'll go for the FreeBSD system for now and have the HURD as a goal instead :-).
