Steam - Counter Strike

Well ive installed steam with wine and i have installed counter strike (Great!)

Know if i join a server that doesnt require me to download anything it works fine!

But on some servers where you have to download the map wav files ect it freezes up and doesnt respond to anything

Has this happend to any of you guys? If so whats the solution?

Im asuming i did something wrong in were to install it and the files arent downloading correctly

I use a modified Counterstrike config file

It stops custom sounds, sprays, models and other crappola that some people think are cool. To me they just detract from the game.
