View Full Version : question about cedega/wine/virtualization

Does anybody know if finale printmusic (or any other finale version) can run on cedega or on wine or anything else in linux WITH usb-midi keyboard support. I could even go for full out emulation or virtualization but will that be able to support a usb-midi keyboard?

Is there anything open source that is comparable at all to finale?

Check there for any apps that have been tested with/run in Wine.

it says I should be able to get it to run alright, with some bugs, but they didn't test the keyboard input. Assuming I can get it up and running, how would I go about configuring wine to receive input from a midi keyboard (this should be similar to configuring it for joystick input) And would I need linux drivers for the keyboard or windows drivers installed under wine?

I really don't know much about connecting a midi keyboard, but if you are using the keyboard through the midi port on your soundcard, you shouldn't need to configure anything, Wine uses whatever configuration the OS uses.

Okay, I guess that's about all you can tell me.
Thank you very much,

I'll go experiment now
