Any one have any ideas about how to use wine to install and run Sims 2?

Nope... This Sims 2 is one of those games that uses the most DirectX features available. Besides, it is an extremely heavy game, and I doubt WINE could handle it smoothly.

Yeah I tried using The Sims 2 on wine. It didn't work. I suggest spending the extra $5 a month and getting Cedega.

Atleast only if it works there exclusively? Tried Cedega and thought, why use it when Wine is free and ran the same games I wanted to play that Cedega did.

So, how is Cedega different from Wine? Does it have ex-Microsoft workers or something? How does it manage to be so much better?

It doesn't manage anything better, it incorporates bad hacks along with cd protection schemes for installing games who have security "features" on their discs.

So Does that mean that If I had Cedega I would be able to run Sims 2???
