Sorry man, that looks terrible!
Urgh. Linux XP+Freespire = ReactOS

ReactOS is anything but lame. They're basically writing an XP-compatible OS from scratch and putting it all under the GPL. It doesn't have anything to do with GNU/Linux. I've been testing it on/off for about a year and their progress is astounding. I can't wait until it reaches feature parity, stability with XP. I think they're trading a lot of code back and forth with WINE (which is good.)

I imagine there will come a time when MS feels like it's time to sue. That will be awesome because then we can see the Software Freedom Law Center do some serious dirty work.

While there is a fair amount of code sharing with WINE, ReactOS is not much of a viable platform as of yet. It can only get better, but until then, it's just a proof of concept.

That'll be good at least!

I can see the advantages. But why design a distro that looks the same as Win? It makes no sense.

It's nice.
But it's not really new.
It has been around for a pretty long time.
EDIT: It's not based on Linux!

yea they are writing every thing from scratch wich instead of taking parts from other distros like linux xp and freespire

Let's make sure we all understand what ReactOS is. It's is not a Linux distro. It is not Linux. They are not taking anything from *spire or any other Windows-ish distro. They are writing every bit of code (except what they get from WINE) themselves from scratch.

Nice idea, but it's useless right now. There have been many threads about this. It has been in alpha stage for 10 years, and it is still very unstable. The installer does not recognize my HD, and the Live CD hangs. I ran it in QEMU, but it BSOD's at times, and is too slow for use. I can't even download anything to try it with, since the Reactos browser doesn't work, and Firefox hangs.
