[SOLVED] A solved thread

Hey Ubuntu users

I got an idea for this forum. There is a lot of different threads about problems and questions here, and it is hard to tell which one is solved or not. Some users writes "SOLVED" in the title bar, when there problem is solved, but I see many topics, where they do not.

My idea for a new feature:
A button in the thread options named "This thread is solved". When you click on it, the post will be marked as black or something so other users know, that the thread is done and don't need more support.

I'm sorry if this has been wrote before, but I think it is a good idea. A bit like the "Unanswered Posts" button :)

Click "Thread Tools" on the top right, and then select "mark this thread as solved"

Maybe we could encourage users to be more proactive in doing that.

Maybe an admin or mod can make a sticky thread about it in the beginners forum? :)

Ewww not another sticky.... Abs Beginners is overrun with them lately... and who reads them anyway?

You could add it to the bar below the "Home, UserCP, ForumHelp, Gallery..." bar.

I agree. I just found the function some days ago. A red button or something will work better :)

I have only just found this feature myself and I have been using the forum for 2 years. I have just implemented one method of informing people by adding a link like this How to: mark thread as solved (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=524404&highlight=mark+as+solved) to my signature.

It may help a little and if you tell people when you provide a solution it should spread.
