no idea how you'd go about fixing that, sounds like an intresting problem anyway, by the sounds of it the problem didn't occur till one or more updates got installed, so it could be an update causing the problem, no idea what you could do about it though, might be better to install the updates one or 2 at a time till you find the offending update, then use synaptic to lock it's version...

A client called Wednesday afternoon. Her computer was dead. All our field techs were booked for the day, so we sent one out first thing Thursday morning. The problem was gone.

The following Wednesday, we had a tech sit with her all day. At lunchtime, she watered her plants, which, in turned out, she did every Wednesday at lunch. The plant above the computer started leaking. some people don't deserve a computer. Pinky's one of them :p

Right now I just ran out of HD space and am moving 2.9 Gigs of stuff to an external drive. This will be a long 41 minutes. :(
