In this stupid autoScript you cannot use the apostrophe. Very annoying. BUMP!

You can:
Replace ' by \' (\ is the escape character. Seriously the computer will not be able to distinguish the closing apostrophe or the apostrophe which you intend to post)
or enclose by double quotes and you have the apostrophe.

it's under the BSD licence, like all the other code I post on these forums, but I'm not going to enforce it(or even bother to hand out a copy of the licence unless you ask for it), since it's not worth the effort(BSD licence is as simple to say "you can use it, edit it, update it or whatever, just don't claim you wrote it")

That \ will be removed for posting. The \ is only the reference to the perl interpreter.

I made a forum for this script, but hyperboards don't use PHPbb exactly, they've got some weird edits, I'm gonna edit it to work with that some time tomorrow(it will, when the edits are done, detect which type of board it is, so don't worry about needing knowledge yourself), till then register and play around on the board, I don't care what you do, as long as there's nothing offensive or whatever(oh, and don't use your same password as here, it is possible for an admin on hyperboards forums to steal your password without much work, don't trust anyone, not even me)

But I have a question. If BUMPing "by hand" is allowed, how come a moderate BUMP from a computer is wrong? It seems to me that if I spend an hour writing BUMPs in a list that I could just copy/paste one after another into the thread at roughly the same speed or faster, how is that bad? I know that incessant, annoying BUMPing is wrong, but, how are you going to regulate this? In any thread that does not have a clear focus, a relatively random sentence can seem to fit right in, especially if it was typed by someone who was reading an commenting on the thread.

It's really a matter of how distracting and intrusive the bumps are. This is a game, not a race. If moderators have to start looking at it, then it's not fun anymore, and they won't be tolerant when it comes to dealing with it.
It's probably not a good idea to bump twice in a row, or even more than a couple of times on a page. It's just not the same when 2 or 3 people just have a million bumps in a row, straight down the page - this is suppsoed to be community activity. I'm being vague on purpose - please use good judgement. Spend time helping out users in the support forums, then come back and bump every now and then :)
