The words "Plumber / Plumbing" comes from the Latin word plumbum (I believe) which means Lead (the heavy metal), because pipes where made of Lead (bad idea, but they didn't know)

Indeed you are correct hence the chemical symbol for lead is Pb.

Wonder how they managed to smooth all of the bumps out of the Lead lining in the Aqueducts so as not to disrupt the water flow.

Very latin it is, too. Wolfram is an ancient Germanic name containing the parts Wolf (Wulf) and Ram (for Raven). The -ium is a latin ending, making the word a member of the germatin language.

They left them in hoping that they would persuade the water to become bumpy (bubbly).

Ironic you said there was irony, in the middle of a discussion about Iron.

The point is (actually there is no point), to make this always at the top. That is what Bumping means, posting only to boost post count or to move a post to the top. The legit reason to bump is indeed to move a post that has dropped out of site, but term refers to a "evi"l practice.

(Of course, posts counts don't count in the cafe, so it doesn't matter)

A.D. 678 . This year appeared the comet-star in August, and shone every morning, during three months, like a sunbeam. Bishop Wilfrid being driven from his bishopric by King Everth, two bishops were consecrated in his stead, Bosa over the Deirians, and Eata over the Bernicians. About the same time also Eadhed was consecrated bishop over the people of Lindsey, being the first in that division.
