Has anyone tried out Linux Mint e17 edition (beta)?
If anyone have, whats your opinion about it? what build of e does it use? Do they update their e17 on a regular basis?

I haven't tried e17 in a long while but I do know that it is updated regularly. On the other hand, they've been working on e17 for several years now.
e17 is really nice but, somehow, I find myself using fluxbox and xfce now.

Thanks but I have used e17 for a long while now, I know they update e17 quite often :).
I was asking about the the distro "Linux Mint e17 edition (beta), not about e17 itself.

Ah, sorry. I misunderstood you. I've only used e17 on LFS and arch...
I've been thinking about giving it another go but I don't want to install something that makes the system unstable. Especially when it comes to updates.

I use e17 on a daily basis with only e17 and OpenBox (which I don't use that often) installed. e17 is stable enough for at least me, theres only 3 things bugging me about it.
1) They change the theming sometimes which makes old themes unusable, they are updated fast though, so no biggie.
2) I want more applications based on the EFL, waiting patiently for their file manager.
3) No good editor for the favorite menu, need to haXXor the XML config file to make sub menus inside the favorite menu.
BTW I saw that the developer of LinuxMint e17 edition has stopped working on that distro (he got himself a job :)), so that kind of nulifies this post.

Maybe I'll try it on my test machine long side with xfce. I'm thinking of running Sabayon on it and e17 is probably updated more often there. I like the fact that things are much easier in Xubuntu than Gentoo though. But hey, lets face it I'm a distro junkie and it just keeps getting worse...
