I have never created a web server

I work for for a help desk and we do not have a centralized help desk. A buddy of mine here and I are heading up a project to create a centralized knowledge center. I would like publication to the site to be administered by him and I. Also, I would like the site to be search able and easy to use.

What do you guys recommend? Will TWiki work or are there other free/OS site packages that would work better?

So, are there any good tutorials for configuring the web server to run and getting it running with all of the appropriate services for the knowledge base?

I will be grabbing an old P4 desktop to do the job since we have enough of them lying around. We will have a static IP/DNS entry.

Just need to get the server ready.

Thanks!

I user Website Baker (http://www.websitebaker.org/) with the FAQ addon (http://addons.websitebaker.org/pages/modules.php)... its really simple to setup and adminster, it took me less than an hour to install and learn how to use it efficiently. For trouble tickets I use eTicket (http://eticket.sourceforge.net/) which is also pretty easy to setup and use.
