What is L10N?
Can it convert between the different calendars/dates such Hebrew, Chinese, Gregorian, Arabic, etc?

l10n is the shorthand for "localization". It is not an application.
i18n is the shorthand for "internationalization".
These shorthands are formed by taking the first and last letters of the word and counting the number of letters in between.

It? *Someone* has to do conversions, it will not happen by a magic touch. I have no idea (never needed it myself) but I would assume there might be locale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locale) with ie hebrew GUI translation and date, and another with hebrew GUI but "normal" date. Switching locale would switch date format - as flexible as someone designed it. Quality of L10N and I18N depends on volunteers - so if it is not to your liking, you may pitch in :-)
