Hi guys
I'd like to build an arcade cabinet with Ubuntu. But actually, while browsing the repositories, I can't find anything mame related. Is there a repo I could use?
Is anyone else using Ubuntu for an arcade cabinet? :)
Cheers
Joe

Great, at least one :)
I setup already a machine with XFCE4 as window manager. Trying to improve the boottime now.
Which frontend are you planning to use?

Like you, for speed reasons ( the testing box i am using is only a 366 ) i will use xfce...along wiht xmame and advancemenu...i would like to get xmess working too but its a bit above my head at the moment and im struggling to find a good howto on it...I really would like a Sega Master System emulator to work under Ubuntu but they are hard ti find...

Mine is aswell just a P3-700 with a good old Voodoo3 card. Will be ok for most of the good old games. But I will check out the newers aswell.
I was looking for a Debianpackage for AdvanceMenu and Mame, but couldn't find anything so far.
Have a look at Osmose, looks like a SMS emu for Linux: http://bcz.emu-france.com/index.htm
