Hello. I am having problems installing FCEUltra. I ran the 'sudo apt-get install fceu' command in the proper terminal, at which point, it asks for my password. I enter it, and it doesn't do anything from there.

I tried everything i found on the internet, ranging from temporarily enabling the root account, to trying to make myself the root user (despite the danger), and nothing has worked.

Any help is appreciated.

Do you have the Universe repository added, deloreanz1?

No, I don't have it installed. How do I install it?

Open Synaptic from the System Administration menu. Go to Settings->Repositories and check all the Downloadable From The Internet sources on the first tab. Close and hit the Reload button.

Note that this is on the version I have in Feisty, it may be different for older versions (e.g. see here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu) for 6.06LTS).

Something has gone wrong. I went into Synaptic, installed the packages, a few of which would not install.

Now, anytime I try to open Synaptic, it gets to about 90% loading the packages, stops, and reboots the system.
